Of all countries India is the best and of all states Orissa (Kapilasamnta). Orissa is  a land of holiness, beauty and artistic excellence. In his Bharat Geetika a prominent Odia Poet  Radhanath Ray sees her as Bharata-Pankaj-dalamidam, Utkal mandalamiti - viditam    that is the land of Utkal which is well known as a petal of the Lotus Bharat. The tone is one of reverent adoration for the  symbol of sacred beauty that is Utkal or Orissa. Odisha constituted as Orissa in 1936, is a land of hoary past. Odisha’s existence as a territorial unit antedates recorded history. Speaking in terms of history, it is the heart- land  of ancient and powerful kingdoms known as Kalinga, Utkal, Odra, Kosala, Tosali and Kalinga.

In fact Odisha is a province with fabulous past, determining present and prosperous future. It is a region of great heritage. Orissa History Congress has the determination and the capability of unfolding the historical facts about Odisha and the website www.orihist.org shall take it to all corners of the world.
